Listening and asking good questions are two of the most powerful skills that will help any man or woman at home, work, and in life. The difficulty comes from listening not being valued as much as talking, so people do not learn how to listen well. Some people only go so far as the concept of active listening.
There is a much more powerful and valuable tool - Observational Listening. If you can learn how to listen as if you are watching a video, it automatically takes you to another level of insight.
The skill is powerful because it is about "seeing" what people are saying. Anyone can start learning the basics, but you will need practice like any skill. If you want to learn how to do it, learn from the master, Robert Fritz. In this course, you will get some basics of what is required, and you can enhance your listening dramatically by practicing the basic principles provided.

Important
When was the last time that you were really listening (humble, focused, and curious) to a person when you were angry? The only "listening" that happens is searching for ways to use their words against them.
Important
Listening is not something that just happens! It is not like hearing something. It takes energy to listen, especially if you are picturing what people say. That is the best way to listen – turn their conversation into a video. You will learn some basics of that approach soon.
Important
“Observational Listening” combines the two senses of hearing and seeing to provide you greater ability to be clear about what you hear. It does not mean that you will immediately understand what the other person says. But, when combined with questions about what you are "seeing", you will more accurately see what the other person is trying to tell you.
